There are lots of ways to enjoy camping without a tent but I am not really sure if they can be described as camping. I have read that there are many ways to camp without a tent and I will have to get back to you on this question. If you could camp in your own backyard it would not be a problem for you. But even if you have a nice sized tent and everything else is already taken care of, it is a good idea to only camp at a campground.
Not all campgrounds are equal. Some are perfect and have a tremendous amount of amenities available. There are campgrounds that have only tent camping only or RV camping only. Some have swimming pools and even a hot tub. These campgrounds are usually located in areas that are secluded from the crowds. The prices are almost always considerably less than the ones with amenities.
If you are not sure if you would like to camp without a tent or not, you should take a look at some of the sites available. This will help you determine if this is a hobby you wish to pursue. You can find information on these sites, what they offer and how good they are.
For the record, camping at a campground or a park does not have to be expensive. Prices should start at $5-10 dollars a night and go down from there. You can also find spots at some of the ski resorts that are away from the crowds. Some of those ski resorts have a lot of different affordable accommodations including rental units, guest houses and several different campsites.
However, if you like to camp with your family, you definitely will not be able to do so at a campground. Especially during the off season, private campgrounds are still available and some of them are even less expensive than public ones. The nice thing about these private campsites is that they have a wonderful location and the campers tend to be very helpful and friendly. You can even have a caravan of your own at the campsite.
One of the public campsites in our area is called Deer Valley Resort and located at Deer Valley Road. This campsite has nicely shaded picnic areas, two riverside campsites with water and electricity, a playground, and a store. However, the Reservations are accepted year-round and the date is flexible. For more information, the phone number is (auga) 562-1616.
The next public campground which has numerous options for campers is Royal York State Park. This park has tent camping, RV hook-up sites that are water and electric, a cozy log cabin, and a swimming pool. Inside the park you will find many events with discounts and prizes for the best in hospitality. The park is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The front and back areas of the park are very fenced and it has a lovely sandy beach.
If you are looking for a more modern and less expensive way to go camping, a visit to York Harbour State Park would be a good choice. York Harbour is a small wooded campground with sorts of picnic and activities that will suit any camper’s fancy. There are nearly three miles of trails through the park with many easy to moderate hikes. The park is not located in any one particular area but rather has been divided into several different areas and pieces of it are even accessible by a train.
